Introducing Executive Summary

In turbulent times, it’s challenging to get an accurate picture of how your business is really doing. Was that dip in revenue because of something you did, or was it a broader market movement?

Everyone always talks about LTV/CAC ratio, but what results are others actually achieving? And how do you stack up?

After much demand, we’re releasing Executive Summary, the new reference for ecomm CEOs & CMOs with high-level, blended business benchmarks across channels to allow you to see metrics such as MER, Total Ad Spend, Revenue, LTV/CAC and more.

What You Can Do With Executive Summary

With executive summary, you can compare overall business performance in real time compared to other companies with the same revenue range, AOV range, and vertical as you.

Benchmark these metrics on a weekly and monthly basis to get a better understanding of how good of a job you’re really doing and where you have room to improve.

Metrics that you can benchmark with Executive Summary include: 

  • Revenue: See how your revenue changes day-by-day and month-by-month compared to your peers.
  • Blended Ad Spend: This is your total ad spend across channels. Since we see that ecomm brands shift spend across channels from Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and TikTok Ads, it’s important to benchmark spend on a blended level.
  • Blended CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost): This is the cost to acquire a new customer, as calculated by your blended ad spend divided by your number of orders. 
  • MER (Marketing Efficiency Ratio): MER is a measure of how efficient your ad spend is. It shows you how much revenue you get per each dollar of ad spend, as calculated by Total Revenue / Total Ad Spend. 
  • LTV / CAC: This is one of the most critical business metrics. It’s the avg. amount you make from customers divided by the avg. amount it takes to acquire them. If you can achieve a positive LTV / CAC at scale, then you’re doing well. 
  • AOV (Average Order Value): AOV is the amount of revenue made on avg. in each order. With high CACs, increasing AOV is a critical piece of the way to profitability.
